The Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Travel

The Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Travel Whatever can go wrong will go wrong.

Be Prepared.

It can be a dangerous world out there for those who dare to adventure past their front doors. Who knows what you might encounter in your travels - Runaway trains, runaway camels, volcanoes, piranha-infested rivers, corrupt officials, plummeting elevators, scam artists or pickpockets - the list goes on.

Joshua Piven & David Borgenicht, authors of the original Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook - published to great popularity in 1999, have since written several spin-offs including this travel edition. Within its pages is advice for dozens of scenarios. From the benign strategies for packing, to the possibly tragic how to navigate a minefield, to the humorous (but potentially serious) how to foil a UFO abduction.

Though it seems a bit tongue in cheek for those would probably never find themselves in most of these situations, the book is full of good information that the authors say was collected by experts for the situation at hand. (Warning: publishers, authors and experts disclaim any liability…information should not be considered a substitute for good judgment and common sense.) It is a fun read with good illustrations, great for travelers both actual and armchair, and who knows - next time you need to jump from a moving train or say “how far is it to the border?” in German - you just might have the knowledge to survive.

Caution: Book may not be used as a flotation device.
